Media Manager – Outreach | South United Football Club

South United Football Club is seeking a proactive Media Manager – Outreach to strengthen the club’s relationship with the media and enhance public visibility. This role involves developing media strategies, managing press relations, and ensuring seamless communication between the club and various media outlets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling press releases, organizing interviews, and coordinating media coverage for key club events.

As the bridge between the club and the media, you will build strong relationships with journalists, broadcasters, and stakeholders while monitoring public sentiment and ensuring effective crisis communication when needed. You will collaborate closely with the marketing and content teams to maintain a consistent brand message across all platforms.

We are looking for a media-savvy professional with excellent communication skills, a strong network in the sports industry, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement media outreach strategies to enhance the club’s visibility.


Establish and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers.


Coordinate press releases, media briefings, and interviews with club representatives.


Manage media requests and ensure timely responses to press inquiries.


Oversee the club’s public relations activities and reputation management.


Collaborate with internal teams to align media efforts with marketing campaigns.


Monitor media coverage and provide reports on outreach effectiveness.


Organize press conferences and media events for key club announcements.


Stay updated on sports media trends to maximize press engagement.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.


Proven experience in media relations, PR, or sports communication.


Strong networking skills and the ability to build media partnerships.


Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.


Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.


Passion for football and understanding of the sports media landscape.


Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
