About the Role

Academy Coach | South United Football Club

South United Football Club is looking for a dedicated Academy Coach to join our team in Bangalore. The role involves implementing the Academy’s coaching program, developing young players across technical, tactical, physical, and psycho-social aspects, and ensuring their holistic growth in alignment with SUFC’s philosophy. You will be responsible for planning and delivering structured coaching sessions, managing logistics for training and competitions, and maintaining player development records.

As an Academy Coach, you will work closely with scouting teams to identify and recruit promising talent while also conducting progress reviews and supporting player retention decisions. Effective communication with players, parents, and fellow staff members is crucial for ensuring a positive and disciplined learning environment. Upholding the club’s values, safety standards, and inclusivity policies is essential.

The ideal candidate should have an AFC "C" or "D" License, strong communication skills, and a passion for youth development. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to adapt to a dynamic coaching environment are also key. Roles & Responsibilities of Academy Coach


To be responsible for implementing the Academy coaching programme and developing players technically, tactically, physically and


psycho-socially in the assigned age group(s) at SUFC.


Plan, Prepare and deliver coaching sessions for the assigned age group(s) in tandem with the Club philosophy and coaching syllabus.


Organise Academy players’ logistics for all training sessions, fixtures, tournaments and Academy events.


Complete all relevant information for SUFC including training sessions, fixtures and player reviews.


Attend all in-service and coaching days as directed by your Reporting Authority.


Recommend and recruit players for the Academy in tandem with the Academy's Head of Scouting.


Construct and deliver detailed individual player progress reviews with players and any


other relevant coaching staff, as per SUFC guidelines.


Assist in the decision-making process regarding the permanent registration of Academy


trialists and the retention of players currently at SUFC.


Multi-disciplinary communication between staff, players and parents to ensure optimal


well-being and development of all players.


Maintain honesty and integrity at all times when working with young players at SUFC.


Be presentable, smart and personable at all times when representing the Club/Academy.


Undertake all reasonable tasks assigned by your Reporting Authority. Your core Health and Safety responsibilities are as follows:


Lead by example, being diligent and observant at all times.


Ensure safety & risk are considered within all projects alongside the SUFC Welfare Policies.


Ensure a safe and respectable learning environment for all players and coaches to maximize their holistic development.


Be committed, enthusiastic and passionate about the development of players.


Ability to work as part of a team as well as using one's own initiative in developing players and coaching sessions.


Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with a variety of different personnel at the Club.


An understanding of a range of teaching / learning styles to optimize the development of young players.


Able to communicate effectively with players, parents and fellow staff members at all levels.


Strong IT skills with the ability to use e-mail, Word to a high standard.


Able to adapt to the demands of the job and needs of the players / coaches.


Dedicated to self-improvement and continuous professional development.


Willing to follow and promote the philosophy of SUFC.


Be an ambassador for the Academy, presenting the Academy in a positive image at all times.
